Thompson Thrift Development Breaks Ground on new LEED Certified Development
August 12, 2009

CARMEL, Ind. — Thompson Thrift Development broke ground in early August on the first LEED® Certified Verizon Wireless corporate store in the Midwest. Through consultants and Thompson Thrift’s own LEED Accredited project team, the development will incorporate several innovative design features aimed at improving energy use, water efficiency, Co2 emissions, indoor environment quality and stewardship of resources and sensitivity to their impacts. Once complete, the project is slated achieve Silver Certification by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).

Over the last several months, Thompson Thrift has assembled a team of LEED Certified executives capable of delivering projects that meet the LEED Certified guidelines outlined by the USGBC. Thompson Thrift recognizes the growing popularity and demand for LEED Certified developments and expects more retailers to seek LEED Certified projects in the coming years.

The Verizon Wireless will be located at 3663 Towne Blvd., on a 0.75 acre Meijer outlot, in Middletown, Ohio, which is 10 miles South of Dayton, Ohio.

Thompson Thrift is a full-service real estate development and construction company with offices in Carmel and Terre Haute, Indiana. For more information on this project or other LEED Certified Developments, contact project developer, Christopher Hake, at (800) 687-0012.
